This class is for anyone interested in learning the art of stained glass and the copper foil technique. This will be a fun, creative experience held in a group of 4 participants. Students will be led through each step of the process with help and guidance from the teaching artist. Each student will leave at the end of the day with their own small stained glass piece.
Join glass artist Molly Gangel at MAKE by Narture for an introduction to stained glass and make your own pumpkin suncatcher in the lead up to Halloween! Molly is an Ayrshire based glass artist and one half of homeware brand Moton Studio, which was founded with her partner Malcolm Dickson in 2020. Born out of their passion for art, traditional crafts and the belief that the use of light and colour in the home can positively impact people and their wellbeing. The duo make a range of contemporary stained glass lighting and bespoke leaded glass. Initially learning the craft from her mother when she was a young teen, Molly went on to study Art Glass Design at City of Glasgow College in 2014 and now boasts over a decade of experience in working with art glass.
WHAT WILL YOU GET: Students will be provided with various pattern options and a range of glass to customise your design. Lunch will be provided by Narture, however, please bring a packed lunch if you have any special dietary requirements in case these cannot be accommodated.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN: Students can expect to cut, grind, foil and solder their stained glass piece with the guidance of the teaching artist.
